Lizzo earned her first #1 single this week, when her two-year-old song “Truth Hurts” reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Consequence of Sound reports that the song’s climb to the top is likely the result of the thrilling and bootylicious performance of the song at the MTV Video Music Awards last month. Lizzo also sang “Truth Hurts” on TODAY and as part of her Tiny Desk Concert for NPR this summer. “Truth Hurts” was first released as a standalone single in 2017, and was included on the deluxe version of Lizzo’s Cuz I Love You album earlier this year. Cardi B congrats the queen while we cross our fingers hoping the two will collaborate musically someday (*cough Truth Hurts Remix *cough *cough).
