ABC broadcast the star-studded The Disney Family Singalong Thursday night, which was highlighted by a previously unannounced appearance by Beyoncé, who sang “When You Wish Upon a Star” and dedicated it to healthcare workers “who are keeping us safe” during the coronavirus pandemic, USA Today reports.
After the song, the singer told the audience, “Please hold on to your families tight. Please be safe. Don’t give up hope. We’re going to get through this. I promise. God bless you.” Ryan Seacrest hosted the hour-long special, and encouraged donations to the Feeding America charity. Stars ranging from Ariana Grande to Disney TV, Broadway and movie actors all appeared from their respective homes, as scenes from classic Disney films provided colorful backdrops for many of the performances. Christina Aguilera, Josh Groban and Demi Lovato were featured, and cast members from the hit High School Musical series also appeared. Other appearances included country stars Little Big Town, cast members from The Descendants and more.
