The Motion Picture Academy announced Wednesday that Billie Eilish will perform at the Oscars on February 9, Billboard reports. Eilish is fresh off her big night at the Grammys, where she won five awards including Best New Artist. While Eilish does not have a song in contention, the Academy is billing her appearance as “a special performance.” This is the second straight year the Oscars have brought in a musician coming off a big night at the Grammys: last year’s album of the year winner Kacey Musgraves was booked to introduce a performance by David Rawlings and Gillian Welch. It’s also possible Eilish will be performing at the Oscars again next year, as she and her brother Finneas wrote the title song for the upcoming James Bond movie, No Time to Die. 😱
