With graduation ceremonies unlikely this spring due to the coronavirus, a slew of A-list celebs have signed up to help grads celebrate virtually at Facebook’s “#Graduation2020” event.
People reports that Oprah Winfrey will deliver a commencement address during the hourlong livestream, taking place May 15 on Facebook Watch; in the past, she’s delivered in-person commencements at schools like Harvard, Stanford, Spelman, and USC. Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus will sing her 2009 hit single, “The Climb.” Lil Nas X, Jennifer Garner, Simone Biles, and Awkwafina will also be on hand.
Meanwhile, Instagram (which is owned by Facebook) will debut a series of new features–including a graduation countdown sticker, a celebratory sticker pack, a custom “#Graduation2020” hashtag page, and a graduation theme for Music Stickers–to help students commemorate their milestone achievement.
