Taylor Swift took her talents to Good Morning America this morning, performing “ME!”, “You Need to Calm Down” & “Shake It Off” on the show’s outdoor stage in Central Park before throngs of adoring fans. And speaking of calming down, the Swifties in attendance freaked out when the pop star revealed she’ll be opening this year’s MTV VMAs. “I’m opening the show, so that’s exciting. I don’t know if I was supposed to say that,” Swift told Robin Roberts.
Taylor also confirmed that she plans on re-recording her back catalog after her former label, Big Machine, was sold to industry nemesis Scooter Braun. “It’s something that I’m very excited about doing because my contract says that starting November 2020, I can record albums one through five all over again,” she explained. “It’s right around the corner. I’m gonna be busy.” Meanwhile, her new album, Lover, drops Friday.
