The chamber choir at Chino Hills High School in Southern California are practicing shelter in place after their school district, like most throughout the state, cancelled classes due to the coronavirus. This also meant the annual Choral Festival at Chino Hills was cancelled too! But the choir, in an awesome show of resilience, decided the show must go on.

Each member of the choir recorded their a cappella portion of the song “Over The Rainbow” at home. Then each of their vocals were put together to create the performance you see and hear in the video. Using the hashtag #spreadhopeCVUSD the video has already well over 110,000 views on YouTube and providing a much needed lift to people during this time when it’s important we all stay indoors to slow the spread of coronavirus. I just love the effort and positive energy these students are putting out into the world right now. It’s good to see that the effort they put in to learn and perform the song can still be enjoyed despite circumstances.

Many on social media are grateful for the mood boosting performance.
