I really miss watching movies on a big screen with the Dolby surround sound and the large popcorn, extra butter with free refills and the biggest Coke I could carry into the theater. Coronavirus and the need to physically distance ourselves has shutdown every movie theater in the Bay keeping us all at home watching everything on our tvs, laptops and phones. But check out this blast from the past…DRIVE-IN MOVIE THEATERS! They’re back in San Jose, Concord and Sacramento! West Wind All Digital Drive-in Theaters are reopening their locations with strict distancing rules for all moviegoers. Now, to be honest, drive-in movies were already a throwback even when I was a kid but they were a fun way to see a new blockbuster before indoor movie theaters stepped up their game with better sound, luxury seats and, y’know…a roof. But, in the age of the Rona, it now seems like a great way to safely pile your family or housemates into your car and see the latest from Hollywood. Here’s the link to West Wind’s website for listings, locations and showtimes here

West Wind has set rules for attending their theaters and they ain’t playing. Park your car ten feet away from the next car, wear a mask when outside of your vehicle and only leave your vehicle to go the restroom. You’ll be asked to leave the premises if you don’t follow these guidelines. But steer clear of any rule violations and you’ll have a fun night out with the family! Part of the excitement will be actually going somewhere other than another room in your house.
