Many parents I know are wondering just how long they’ll have to continue home schooling their kids. Well, for many Bay Area parents, the answer is until May 4th. Six Bay Area counties are keeping schools closed amid the coronavirus crisis. Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties decided to keep public school districts doors shut until May 1st aiming for a return of students on the following Monday. Of course, school leaders continue to monitor the situation and another closure extension is possible.
Originally, schools were slated to open after their scheduled spring breaks but with the entire Bay Area continuing to shelter in place, kids will be hitting the books at home for a while longer. Our partner, KTVU, filed this report below with more on this story.
