With his quick wit and honest take on pop culture, Greg has been lighting up the Bay Area morning airwaves for 20 years. Greg originated ‘Sassy Sports’, his irreverent take on all-things on-and-off the field, two decades ago and it’s still a staple of Big Bay Mornings, with the classic sign off, ‘If they’re playing with balls, I’m all over it.’
Despite being born and raised in Texas, Greg considers himself a Bay Area native now. He lives in the heart of San Francisco and loves everything the City has to offer, especially the food and sports scenes. His favorite local sports teams are the Warriors and the Giants, but he will always be dedicated to the sports teams from his college alma mater, the University of Texas Longhorns. He’s also found a recent passion for Premier League Soccer, supporting Arsenal and F1 Racing, supporting his favorite driver Lando Norris and Team McLaren.
But Greg doesn’t just like watching sports, he loves to participates as well. He spent over a decade running with Team in Training, a fundraising arm for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, where he ran eight full marathons and countless half marathons. And, while he’s mainly exchanged his running shoes for a yoga and Pilates mat these days, Greg thinks he has one more long-distance run in him, which he will train for soon.
In the meantime, you can always hear his honest opinion, on everything from pop culture to politics, each weekday morning on Big Bay Mornings. And, you can watch him on his recently launched video-series ‘Greg Eats’ on Instagram and Tik Tok, where he reviews local restaurants and food crazes, soon to be taken abroad for more reviews from across the globe!
