St. John’s Thing To Know: How To Protect The Little Ones!
It has been a question that has been going around even more now that counties have made it mandatory to wear masks during your essential runs. To begin, If you can avoid all together taking the little ones out that is your best bet to keeping them safe. If you must however, bring them along the CDC has recommended to not put a mask or covering on children Under the age of 2.
“Cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.”
For children over 3 it might be difficult to keep them with a mask on as it might bother them and they will touch their face even more. So teaching them and educating them is a good way to protect them.
According to HealthyChildren.Org
“For children over 3, try focusing on germs. Explain that germs are special to your own body. Some germs and good and some are bad. The bad ones can make you sick. Since we can’t always tell which are good or bad, the cloth face coverings help make sure you keep those germs away from your own body.”
