ST. JOHN’S THING TO KNOW: DISPOSE OF YOUR MASKS AND GLOVES PROPERLY!

Walking in a parking lot, by the beach or just down the streets definitely looks different now than it was three months ago. Other than less people being around there has been more of one thing for sure…..littering.

Face masks and gloves have become a way for us to protect ourselves but are becoming destructive to the environment by people dumping them on the ground after an essential run. Often times that’s not the intention when dropping them. ┬áIt is more of not potentially bringing the virus home with them, but you can still protect yourself without dumping that mask and gloves outside your car. If you don’t have a nearby trashcan you can just put them into a plastic bag, tie it up and throw it away as soon as you’re able to. There is no special way of disposing of them right now other than just throwing it away. It is also a way to decrease the chance of those who have to pick them up be exposed to the virus.

Just a reminder for us to keep doing our part as we are in this together <3

Don’t forget to wash your hands!
