SF Pride Parade 2020 Has Been Canceled, Virtual Pride Instead! – St. John
By St. John on April 14, 2020
Though I totally expected to hear this … still suuuuuper bummed …
OFFICIAL WORD just came down…SAN FRANCISCO PRIDE BOARD HAS CANCELLED their 50th anniversary celebration. The theme this year was “Generations of Hope” and OBVIOUSLY the decision to cancel a milestone like this was done with great care, taking the events significance into account.
End of the day … “the health and wellbeing of our communities is of utmost impoprtance”.
AGAIN…the BAY AREA taking the proper steps to control and limit the impact of this pandemic.
Bteween the Pride Boards tough decision … Mayor London Breed’s EARLY response and the state’s response to Coronavirus , I couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved in this RESPONSIBLE decisioin making.
In addition Instead of celebrating in person, SF Pride plans to join a constellation of Pride organizations worldwide in a “Virtual Global Pride” on Saturday, June 27.
2021 is still on and will be even bigger and better!
