It’s never a bad time to talk about or be too prepared when it comes down to earthquake preparation!! So St John is bringing you just a few reminders on what you can do today to be ready in case we do face a large quake. They are relatively simple and can really make a difference ….So here are ST JOHN’S FIERCE FIVE EARTHQUAKE SURVIVAL TIPS…

1.STAY INFORMEDDownload earthquaketrack.com to see history of earthquakes in your area and stay updated!

2.EDUCATE YOUR SELF AND FAMILY-Locate a place in each room of the house that you can go to in case of an earthquake. It should be a spot where nothing is likely to fall on you, like a doorframe. Remember, If you are outdoors move away from buildings, power-lines, and trees!

3.KNOW YOUR SURROUNDINGS -Be sure you know how to turn off the water, gas, and electricity in your home. A multi-function tool may be needed!

4.BE PREPARED Keep a few weeks supply of canned food, an up-to-date first aid kit, 3 gallons of water per person, back up medication,  a working battery-operated radio and flashlights in an accessible place. If you have pets do not forget to have emergency items put aside for them as well.

5.HAVE A MEET UP SPOT- Get a map and circle where you will all meet up in case of an earthquake and always keep it in an accessible place.

And there you have it folks! Just a few reminders that could really help you in case of an emergency.
